Funded childcare for use within a childminding setting is not available in Northern Ireland. But if your family is eligible, you may be able to claim tax free childcare! Northern Ireland offers a Pre School Education Programme, which offers 12.5 funded hours to all children aged 3 and 4, for a total of 475 hours per year. The Sure Start Programme is still available in Northern Ireland, which is a scheme to support the families of children under the age of 4 who are living in disadvantaged areas.
